Article summaries are due weekly. Students need to turn in an article summary and attach the article they are summarizing on a separate page. Pg. 1 should be the article with F.C.A.s written/typed at the top of the left hand of page. F.C.A.s (Focus correction areas) are Format, Spelling, and Caps. Pg. 2 is the actual summary. Your name, block, and assignment and date need to be in the upper right hand corner. You need to summarize in your own words information that you have read along with a word count. Your grade will also be dependent on how many words you have written. 50 words will get you a 77%. 130 words will get you a 97%.

Class 1 articles are due Tuesday.

Class 2 articles are due Wednesday.

Class 3 articles are due Thursday.

Each student needs a 3-ring binder (with 5 dividers) that will be used just for Social Studies. Format and expectations within social studies classes do not change. Notebook grades are a test grade, and these are meant to be an easy A as long as you organize. Each divider needs to be labeled:

• Tests
• Maps
• Glossary
