There are many sites on the Internet that can be particularly helpful in doing research.  Here are a few with brief descriptions:

www.kbb.com – Kelly Blue Book for auto information

www.biography.com – brief biographies of thousands of people

http://www.bls.gov – career information

www.state.me.gov – access to all the information about Maine government.  You can substitute any state’s two-letter abbrevation for me.

www.mayoclinic.com – extensive and accurate medical information

ursus.maine.edu – Catalog of the University and other large libraries

www.ipl.org – librarian’s index to the Web that also includes access to publications throughut the world

www.medweb.emory.edu/MedWeb/ – Emory University publishes extensive medical research

New books have finally arrived!  Many great novels, and some non-fiction in all areas.  Many of these books were highly recommended by TeenReads.  Come to the library and check out the display.

The library has subscribed to some new magazines.  The first ones – GamePro and Entertainment Weekly have arrived.  More to follow.
